The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had announced that a power reconfiguration work on a part of the international undersea cable, SMW4, will take place on April 21, 2022, from 02:00 AM to 07:00 AM. The authorities also stated that consumers might experience slower internet speeds throughout this repair period.
The South East Asia-Middle East-West Europe 4 underwater cable (SEA-ME-WE 4, SMW4) connects Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Italy, Tunisia, Algeria, and France.
