Following in the footsteps of Apple, Samsung is now making it easier to repair Galaxy handsets. Following a cooperation with iFixit, the business has introduced a Self Repair service for its smartphones.
Earlier this week, the Korean phone manufacturer revealed its new Self Repair service. Those who wish to fix their Galaxy phones themselves will be able to do it with the help of this software, which will give genuine components, repair equipment, and repair guidelines. This is comparable to Apple’s Self Service Repair initiative, which will be available later this year.

Apple’s new service is presently available only on the iPhone 12 and 13 models. Similarly, for the time being, Samsung is only giving its Self Repair service to the Galaxy S20, S21, and Tab S7 Plus. Even the recently introduced Galaxy S22 series is not yet supported.

This should extend the total life of Galaxy devices and make it easier to find genuine components for them. For individuals who have never repaired anything before, Samsung will give step-by-step instructions on how to get started. This allows you to replace damaged display panels, back panels, charging ports, and other components.

Ramon Gregory, Senior Vice President of Customer Care at Samsung, stated that the brand is:

Providing more opportunities for consumers to extend the life of [its] products through premium care experiences.

It is unknown when Samsung’s Self Repair service will be available, but we will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
