According to WABetainfo, the Meta-owned instant messaging software WhatsApp is rolling out a new upgrade via the Google Play Beta programme, introducing additional choices for choosing phone numbers in chat bubbles.

The WhatsApp news tracker reports that the network is currently deploying a new feature that allows you to use shortcuts when choosing phone numbers in chat bubbles.

“Previously, when you engaged with a phone number in a chat bubble, the app would send you directly to your default dialer app.”

However, with the latest update, when the user taps a phone number in the chat bubble, a new option appears.

“In this situation, WhatsApp would verify if the phone number is available on WhatsApp, indicating whether or not the contact has a WhatsApp account,” WABetainfo explained.

It was also stated that if the phone number is on WhatsApp, you may start a new conversation thread with the person right away.

“You may also phone the contact using the default dialer app, and you can instantly add the contact to your address book.” “These two alternatives are always displayed when the phone number is not in WhatsApp,” it stated.

More individuals now have access to these new possibilities, and more activations are planned in the future.
