Conestoga College in Kitchener welcomed most of its students back to campus on Monday, when the institution resumed full-time in-person instruction.
On Friday, the school announced the change, noting that “a number of processes are in place to continue to protect the health, safety, and well-being of the college community as on-campus events develop.”
All students, workers, and visitors must wear a college-issued mask and provide evidence of immunisation as part of the processes.
“These measures represent the best advice available from public health professionals, as well as municipal, provincial, and federal government authorities,” according to the school.
The two other major postsecondary schools in the vicinity have also returned to campus.
Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo concluded a phased approach to in-person instruction on February 28, albeit that institution also enforced facial coverings and necessary immunizations.
The University of Waterloo used a similar strategy, with some students beginning in-person instruction on Feb. 7 and the larger classes continuing online until Feb. 28.
